Caroline (Schmick) Knotts, 87, entered Heaven on January 29, 2024. Caroline was born on March 12, 1936 in Batesland, South Dakota. She was one of thirteen children born to Fred and Marie Schmick. On May 28, 1954, she married her high school sweetheart, Dallas Knotts.
Caroline was a stay-at-home mom until the children were older and then worked at Lockwood Corporation and Cedar Canyon School. She opened Grandma Carol’s Day Care Center and helped raise many children over the next 25 years.
She was a member and past president of B.P.O. DOES, a member and past president of Jaycees, served on the Camp Fire Council and Boy Scout Council, and was Guardian of Job’s Daughters Bethel 10.
Caroline is survived by her daughter Netta and her husband Rod Green of Gering, daughter Vivian Knotts of Scottsbluff, and daughter-in-law Tammy Knotts of Minatare; grandchildren Amber and Josh Potts of Cheyenne, Chad and Mia Knotts of Mitchell, AJ and Stacy Green of Seguin, TX, Keaton Green of Gering, Hayden and Jennifer Green of Gering; great grandchildren Addie and Taryn Potts, Caymon and McKinley Knotts, Scout and Ruby Jay Green, Walker Green; great great grandchild June Knotts and sister Hilda Marlin of Yuma, AZ.
Caroline was preceded in death by her husband Dallas, son Kelly, great grandchild Braxton Green, her parents, six brothers, five sisters and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
As per her request, Caroline has been cremated and no memorial service will be held. Her immediate family will get together this summer for a life celebration.
