Betty Scoggan, 90, of Gering, formerly of Crawford, passed away on October 9, 2023, at Heritage Estates. Funeral Services for Elizabeth will be privately conducted with no public visitation. Betty was born January 8, 1933, at her family home, south of Morrill, to Harold and Fern (Powell) Rawlings. She grew up in Morrill and graduated from Morrill High School. After graduating, she worked for a year and a half for the FBI in the fingerprinting department. She met Robert “Bob” Scoggan in school, and they were married on November 29, 1953. They farmed for a few years while Betty was busy raising their two children, Steve and Sandy. She worked at the Gamble Store in Morrill. The family moved to Crawford, Bob and Betty began their business, B&S Electric, and it operated for 35 years. During this time, Betty was also working the evening shift at Ponderosa Villa and worked as a CNA,13 years of hard work and dedication.

Betty was an excellent cook and canned the best dill pickles and made Sunday meals for her family. While in Crawford, Betty joined the ladies’ bowling league and Sunday night couples’ league with Bob. They made several friendships along the way and celebrated 51 years of marriage. Mom will be missed for the love and care that she always provided.

Preceding her in death are her husband Bob; her parents, and sisters Sue Jackson and Katherine Rawlings.

Betty is survived by her daughter Sandy Scoggan of Gering; sister Rooney Miller of Lingle, WY; special cousin Kay Beatty of Morrill, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
