Bennie George Christianson, who died in his sleep at Monument Care and Rehab Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Graveside Services will be held at Mitchell Valley Cemetery at a later date to be announced, Pastor Lyle Heinbauch will officiate. He was born November 16, 1931, at Omaha, Nebraska. He was adopted early in life to Charles and Mamie (Maupin) Christianson and received his early education in the Mitchell Valley Schools, formerly known as the Springer School. He attended and graduated Mitchell High School in 1948. Later in life he would treasure the times spent with classmates over coffee until his health wouldn’t allow it.
He married Vera Marie Rice September, 5 , 1951. Gering, NE. They made their final home in Gering, NE.
He was a member of the Church of Christ for his entire adult life. At the time of his passing, he was affiliated with the Central Church of Christ where he maintained several warm friendships.
Survivors include: son Ben (wife Vickie), daughters Jean Stovall and Susan Albertz. Grandchildren Bennie (wife Angie), Daniel (wife Kristin), Kenisha Stovall, Tracy Hawley (husband Mike), great grandchildren, Charlie Christianson, Noelle Christianson, Quinn Stovall, Cody Hawley, Morgan Hawley, Weston Hawley.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Vera, two granddaughters Melissa L Christianson and Tami Jeanette Christianson, son in law Jerry Albertz, sister Darlene Janis, and brother Earl (Babe).
