Barbara J. Barnum, age 74, of Scottsbluff, passed away on May 30, 2023 at her home after a four year battle with breast cancer. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Fond memories and condolences for the family may be left at www.dugankramer.com
She was born October 5, 1948 in Eureka, Kansas, to Bill D. and Marilyn (Evenson) Johnson, receiving her early education in the Kimball, Nebraska schools. She graduated in 1967, after which she attended college for cosmetology, graduating in 1969. For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper for companies such as Kelly Bean and Bumper to Bumper. Her grandbabies and great-grandbabies were her greatest joy, alongside her passion for gardening, which she shared with her children, who she convinced to help her with the lawn work.
Survivors include her sons, Shawn Farrar of Gering, Nebraska, and Breck (Tracy) Grasz of Lexington, Oklahoma; sister, Debe (Don) Rider; granddaughters, Harley Craig and Maddilyn Farrar; nephew, Aaron Rider; and great-grandchildren, Liam, Olivia, and Paisley, all of Scottsbluff.
Preceding her in death are her parents; sister, Brenda; grandparents; and great-granddaughter, Izabelle Craig.
