Arabella “Bella” Braelyn Delezene, age 12, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, in Scottsbluff. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering, Nebraska with Fr. Mike McDonald as Celebrant. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Arabella was born September 14, 2011, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff to Tara Delezene and Kasey Dietz. She resided in Scottsbluff and was raised by her mother and beloved bonus Dad, Matthew Benevides. Arabella attended Bluffs Middle School where she was a member of the award-winning BMS band. She had a competitive spirit and already experienced success as a young wrestler in the Scottsbluff Wrestling Club. Arabella also participated in the Scottsbluff Running Club.
Arabella had a big heart for all species. She enjoyed studying animals and insects, especially ants. She was quick-witted and always had something funny to say. She was a natural artist and skilled at painting and drawing. Along with her appreciation for the arts and music came her passion for dance. Another part of her gift for art was doing makeup. She liked watching YouTube makeup tutorials on how to create different makeup styles. Quilting, reading, and playing games on electronics were some of her avenues for relaxation. Bella enjoyed being in the water, whether at the lake, swimming pool, or just sitting in the bathtub. She was a tubing master! The Madea and Bring It On were her favorite movies and Young Sheldon was her favorite TV show.
Her adventurous spirit fed her enthusiasm for riding the go-kart, which she said would be her “first car”. She liked the thrill of motorcycle rides with Matthew. Arabella was as curious as a scientist, mixing different things up just to see the outcome and what her creations would look like. She also enjoyed putting recipes together in the kitchen for baking. Arabella was a good big sister and made memories playing Minecraft with her brothers, Luke and Avery. Spending time with her Grandma Sandra was special to her as she was the only granddaughter on that side of the family. She held a unique place in Sandra’s heart.
Survivors include her parents, Tara (Matthew) Benavides and Kasey (Heather) Dietz; brothers, Avery Fleuren, John Luke Benavides, Garrick Dietz and Grady Dietz; grandparents, Carrie (Jeff) Peterson, Jay Dietz, Lusetta Dietz, Sandra Benavides, and Todd Delezene; great grandparents, Marsha Lovato, Leroy Lovato, Sally Ramirez, Harley Dietz and Marvin and Rosalee Lewellen; aunts, Tahnee (Robert) King, Tiffany (Joesph) Leslie, Jada (Brecken) Loftin, Stevie (Nathan) Musfelt, Kori Dietz and Taylor McDaniel; uncles, Kyle (Sara) Dietz, Ken (Misty) Dietz, Justus (Payton) Peterson, Bobby (Amanda) DeHart, Travis (Kasandra) Lauder, Keegan (Karsyn) Weiss, John Fibelstad, DJ Brown, and Taylor Christian; godparents; Dj Brown and Stevie Musfelt; cousins, Lorin King, Riah King, Ember King, Zoe Boyden, Madison Boyden, Sophia Boyden, Jordan Leslie, Hayden Peterson, Harper Peterson, Anakin Peterson, Avery Bosse, Ben and Alex Gomez, Giovanni Gomez, and Jhett and Hudsyn Musfelt; plus many other cousins, extended family members and friends and classmates.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Glen and Leona Delezene; great grandpa, Steve Ramirez; Bella’s hamster, Smores; her dog, Goliath; and family members, James Ramirez, Jose Sanchez, and Merceda Dietz.
