Mental Health Awareness Events at Lied Scottsbluff Public Library

The Lied Scottsbluff Public Library is partnering with Panhandle Public Health District to offer a series of transformative events on Saturday, May 18th. The events are aimed at raising mental health awareness and reducing stigma in our community. These events, held during Mental Health Awareness Month, will provide valuable resources and support for community members while highlighting the importance of mental health and suicide prevention.

Event schedule:

  • 9:15 -10:15a.m.: Turning Pages-Expanding Minds: Book Discussions to Help End Stigma (for ages 16 and up). There will be a reading of Kelly Rimmer’s gripping novel, Before I Let You Go.
  • 10:15 -10:45a.m.: Breathe and Be: Cultivating Calmness Workshop (for ages 14 and up).
  • 10:45a.m.-12p.m.: Q.P.R. (Question. Persuade. Refer.) Suicide Prevention Training (for ages 18 and up). If there is enough demand, an additional training will be added.
