AirLink transported one person to Regional West following a late Monday night crash near the Kimball/ Banner County line on Highway 71.

The Nebraska State Patrol tells KNEB News that at approximately 11:33 p.m., a northbound pickup stopped in its lane of travel on Highway 71, then made a U-turn headed south back into the northbound lanes in front of a Toyota, causing the Toyota to crash into the pickup.

The lone occupant of the Toyota, identified as Stephanie Steyer of Scottsbluff, had to be extricated from her vehicle and was taken to Scottsbluff by AirLink for injuries said to be non-life threatening. The NSP says there were three people in the pickup, both vehicles were totaled and alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The Kimball County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page says 37-year-old Ryan Burback of Kimball was arrested on charges of Driving Under the Influence, Child Endangerment, and Willful Reckless Driving.

Those also responding to the crash included the Banner County Sheriff’s Office, Kimball County Sheriff’s Office, and Banner County EMS.
