Riverside Discovery Center Director Resigns
May 18th, 2024 | Media Release

The Riverside Discovery Center announced today that Desirée Drane-Davison has officially resigned as Executive Director of the Riverside Discovery Center effective Saturday, May 18th, 2024.  Drane-Davison has cited health as reason for departing.

Drane-Davison had been Executive Director of the RDC since February 2023.  During that time, she oversaw the remodeling of the Discovery Building, the Cat Exhibit, the Parking Lot, and helped to bring in a pair of hyena siblings, a first-time species for the RDC.

Andy Hayward, President of the RDC Board of Directors stated, “We were very fortunate to have Desirée come into serve as director of the RDC over the last year and three months.  She essentially came out of retirement to help the RDC through an accreditation cycle last summer and has helped to bring new features and animals to the facility.  We are deeply appreciative for all she has done and wish her the best in her future.”

The Board of Directors of the RDC are currently searching for candidates to fill Drane-Davison’s position.
