Girls Tennis: Scottsbluff sweeps duals at Alliance Triangular

The Scottsbluff girls tennis team picked up a pair of dual wins on Thursday at the triangular at Alliance earning a 4-1 win over the host Bulldogs while beating Gering 3-2. Gering won the other dual over Alliance 5-0.

In the top singles match of the day Scottsbluff’s Aspyn Andreas beat Gering’s Aria Schneider in a tiebreaker.

Scottsbluff head coach Hannah Liptac was pleased with her teams performance, saying, “Gering and Alliance played some smart tennis, and our girls showed mental toughness to finish matches. Aspyn Andreas especially impressed me with two come from behind wins – she was down 2-6 to Gering’s Aria Schneider and showed how tough she is as she fought back and won in a tiebreak”

On the Gering side coach Ron Swank offered up his assessment, “At 1 Singles Aria Schneider played really well in a back and forth match, but lost in a tiebreaker to Scottsbluff’s Aspyn Andreas. But I felt we had some really good matches with both Alliance and Scottsbluff. Our match quality was good for early in the year.”

All three teams will be in action next Wednesday at the North Platte Invite that will be held in Kearney.
