Firefighters were called to a blaze at the Western Sugar plant Saturday night shortly before 10 p.m.
According to video shared with KNEB News, the fire was west and south of the main office at the top of a cylindrical metallic structure that appeared to be part of the production process.
Three units from Scottsbluff Fire responded to the call, and were able to knock down the flames in short order and crews were on scene until approximately 3 AM
The fire was contained to the crystallizer. Mutual aid was requested from Scottsbluff and Gering.
The cause, amount of damage and extent of injuries, if any, were not immediately known.
