Area First Responders Honor the Fallen During 2024 Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony

The City of Scottsbluff played host Wednesday morning to the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony at the Public Safety Building.

Scottsbluff Police Chief Kevin Spencer welcomed attendees, and was joined by representatives from the Gering Police Department, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Scotts Bluff County Detention Center, Scottsbluff Fire Department, and Region 22 Emergency Management.

Mayor Jeanne McKerrigan read a proclamation declaring it Police Week in Scottsbluff. Afterwards, The Rock Church Pastor Dr. Tyson Lambertson delivered this year’s keynote address.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, officers did a 21-gun salute followed by a rendition of Taps.
