An 18-year-old Ogallala teen was arraigned in Lincoln County Court Thursday in connection with a fatality accident several miles west of North Platte last week.
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to the scene around 9:45am Thursday morning July 18, 2024. Investigators believe the accident happened hours earlier.

When they arrived, they found two occupants in a vehicle that had struck a tree. The driver Addison Malone was seriously injured and her passenger, 18-year-old Nathaniel Sandoval of Ogallala, was deceased. Investigators believe the driver may have been confused as to what road she was driving on and did not realize that she was on a dead end street. She failed to see the warning signs and hit a large tree, head on, at a high rate of speed.

At her court hearing, Malone was arraigned on charges of Felony Motor Vehicle Homicide, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Minor in Possession of Alcohol. Lincoln County Judge Tanya Roberts-Connick set her bond at 10% of $125,000. She indicated she will be hiring her own counsel. Her next hearing was set for August 15, 2024 at 9:00am.
