Brackets for the annual Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference Basketball Tournament were released on Monday.

The boys first round will be Monday, Jan. 22 in Callaway and Thedford.

South Loup received the top seed for the boys. They enter this week with a 9-1 record and are ranked as a consensus top ten team in Class D1. They will open against 8-seed Brady. The two teams had been scheduled to play each other last Saturday but were unable to because of the weather. The other boys quarterfinal in Callaway will feature 4-seed Mullen against 5-seed Sandhills Valley.

On the opposite side of the bracket, Sandhills/Thedford is the No. 2 seed with a 9-2 record after falling to Maywood-Hayes Center in overtime on Friday. They will host 7-seed Arthur County. Meanwhile Twin Loup is the No. 3 seed and will open against 6-see Anselmo-Merna.

The girls will begin play Tuesday, Jan. 23, with quarterfinals in Dunning and Brady.

Sandhills/Thedford is the top seed in the field with a record of 11-3 and a top ten ranking in Class D2. They will face Sandhills Valley in the opening round. The other game in Dunning will pit No. 4 Twin Loup against No. 5 Anselmo-Merna.

Brady earned the No. 2 seed and will host South Loup in the first round while the other quarterfinal will be No. 3 Arthur County against No. 6 Mullen.

Semifinals and finals will all be played at Broken Bow High School with the semis on Thursday, Jan. 25 and finals on Saturday, Jan. 27.

As always, all of the semifinals and finals will be broadcast on KBEAR 92-3.
