Kearney, Neb. – The sixth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team easily swept Mary (-15, -14, -7) and Missouri Southern (-12, -14, -17) Friday at the Health & Sports Center.

These matches were part of the annual Rosella Meier Fall Classic. UNK (7-0) faces undefeated Oklahoma Christian Saturday at noon and Chadron State at approximately 6 p.m. The match at 6pm can be heard on 93.1 KRVN FM, 106.9 FM.

Against the UM Marauders (1-5) from Bismarck, N.D., UNK got big efforts from Kansas senior outside Asha Regier (match-high 11 kills, .267 pct., four digs), Missouri sophomore middle Mia Berg (nine kills, .261 pct., four blocks) and Michigan graduate libero Alli Wiese (match-high 20 digs, five aces). Wiese had several long serving runs as the Lopers held Mary to a -.029 efficiency (17-20-103). Finally, Lincoln graduate right side Lauren Taubenheim had eight kills in 14 swings with no errors (.571 pct.).

The match against the Lions (0-6) was non-conference as the teams meet just once this fall in MIAA play. Kansas sophomore Abby Rose had one of her best matches as a Loper (10 kills, .474 pct.) with Regier at a match-best 16 kills. She also hit .271 and had four digs. Finally, Wiese (21) and Taubenheim (16) combined for 37 digs as UNK held MSSU to a -.041 percentage (22-27-122).
