Jorgensen Accepts Sportscaster of the Year Award
KRVN Sports Director Jayson Jorgensen accepted the 2024 Nebraska Sportscaster of the Year award Monday, July 1st at the annual National Sports Media Association Convention in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

LEXINGTON, NE – Congratulations to KRVN’s very own Jayson Jorgensen as he accepted the 2024 Nebraska Sportscaster of the Year award Monday night in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at the annual National Sports Media Association Convention.

Jorgensen has been KRVN’s Sports Director in Lexington since 1997, and in that time has won over 40 awards from the Nebraska Broadcasters Association and the Associated Press.

For the last seven seasons, he has been the radio voice of the University of Nebraska Kearney football, volleyball and women’s and men’s basketball programs on 93.1 KRVN “The River” and 106.9 FM in Kearney. Jorgensen was also the radio voice for the Concordia University football broadcasts on Max Country in York for two years.

In addition to his duties with the Lopers, Jorgensen still calls several high school football, basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer and legion baseball games for the Nebraska Rural Radio Association.

Tom Shatel of the Omaha World Herald and Steve Sipple, with Husker Online of Lincoln tied for the Sportswriter of the year.
