BROKEN BOW – Broken Bow senior MaKinley Tobey will continue her basketball career at Peru State College this fall.

Tobey said Peru State’s coaches reached out to her and attended a few Broken Bow games this past season and she made an official visit after the season ended.

Broken Bow native Mike Sybrant is an assistant coach for the Bobcats and led Tobey’s recruitment.

Tobey was named all-state this year by both the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World Herald after averaging 18 points and four rebounds per game to lead the Lady Indians back to the state tournament.

She also competes in track and cross country, but said the success of this season helped her choose basketball.

In the classroom, Tobey is an Academic All-State honoree and said she plans to major in dentistry.
