Broken Bow golfers in top 25 after first day of state tournament

NORTH PLATTE – Broken Bow’s two qualifiers for the state golf tournament were both among the top 25 on the leaderboard following Monday’s first round of play.

Molly Custer posted an 89 to tie for 12th place following the first 18 holes. Brynn Custer was tied for 21st with a 93.

Gothenburg’s lone qualifier, Kaylee Olsen, finished the first round tied for 27th with a 95.

Minden sat atop the team scoring at the end of the first round with a six shot lead over Wayne.

A pair of Minden golfers, Kara Suchsland and KayLynn Jorgensen, tied atop the leaderboard by both shooting 77.

The Class C State Tournament will wrap up Tuesday at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte. Tee times for both days have been delayed by about 90 minutes because of morning frost.
