BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow City Council had a brief meeting on Tuesday where they approved a pair of board appointments and a temporary street closing.

The board approved the appointments of Paul Proctor to the Broken Bow Airport Authority for a term ending December 2029 and Steven Fricke to the Park Board for a term ending February 2026.

The board also approved the temporary closing of South D Street between 8th and 9th Avenues on the evening of July 26 for a fundraiser for the Broken Bow Youth Sports Club.

The Youth Sports Club was established this spring as a nonprofit through the Custer County Foundation. Ryan Wetovick told the council the group seeks to encourage youth involvement in sports by removing financial hurdles to participation. He said proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward helping children in kindergarten through eighth grade be able to purchase sports equipment.
