BROKEN BOW – It was another winning weekend for the Broken Bow Legion baseball teams as the seniors and juniors each went 2-0.

The seniors used a late rally Saturday to get past Ogallala 7-6 on the road.

Ogallala jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and an RBI single by Max Denson made it 2-1 in the third.

That remained the score until the seventh inning when Broken Bow erupted for six runs to take the lead. Ogallala answered with four of their own in the bottom half, but couldn’t overcome the deficit.

Denson finished 3-for-4 in the game with two RBI while Eli Coble drove in three runs.

On Sunday, Broken Bow returned home to win a 17-9 slugfest over McCook.

McCook took a 5-0 lead after three innings, but Broken Bow plated five runs in the third, six in the fourth and four in the fifth to open up an advantage. Two more runs in the sixth clinched the victory.

Coble and Coy Wardyn tallied three hits each while four different Broken Bow players drove in three runs and the seniors improved their record to 9-3.

Meanwhile the Juniors had their high scoring game on Saturday when an 11-run second inning helped push them past Ogallala 21-6.

Kanzas Kellum had a team high four RBI and Dominic Nowak tallied three hits.

Sunday’s juniors game was tighter, with Broken Bow topping McCook 5-4.

McCook led for nearly the entire game until Broken Bow tied it in the bottom of the seventh then got a walk-off victory when Logan Bell drew a bases loaded walk to bring home the winning run.

Both the juniors and seniors will be back in action Tuesday on the road at Gothenburg.
