Nebraska men’s basketball assistant and Broken Bow native Padyn Borders is one of 50 men’s and women’s basketball coaches invited to participate in the 2024 NCAA Basketball Coaches Academy this week in Indianapolis, Ind.

The three-day event takes place at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis from May 8-10 and participants will be trained in a variety of areas that encourage effective coaching at the intercollegiate level.. Some of the area of focus include effective communication with campus and community constituents, the importance of building a culture of excellence focused on the overall success of student-athletes, winning the head coaching interview, becoming a CEO of your program and on-the-floor coaching strategies. The event features renowned speakers from the intercollegiate and professional basketball space.

Borders is in his second year on the Husker staff, as he is finishing his first year as recruiting coordinator for the Husker program. Previously, he served as a graduate assistant in 2022-23 and worked as a student manager during his undergraduate career and graduated from Nebraska with a degree in business administration in 2022.
