NORTH PLATTE – The public is invited to enjoy an afternoon of music, food and fun Sunday in North Platte to help raise money for those affected by the Betty’s Way Fire.

Singer/songwriter B.J. Jamison is organizing the event. He says there will be a free will donation meal, silent auction and live music with all proceeds going to area fire departments and those effected by the fire.

The 20-year-old Jamison tells KBEAR he joined the Arnold Volunteer Fire Department last summer after the Cooksley Fire burned a significant area in Custer and Blaine Counties.

Jamison said being a volunteer firefighter has been a unique experience.

The benefit will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lincoln Highway RV Park on Rodeo Road in North Platte.
