District track competition continued Wednesday in Class D.
The top two finishers in each event at each district automatically qualified for the state meet along with the next six best performances across all districts.
Nebraska Christian won both the girls and boys team titles in District 5 with Central Valley as the girls runner-up, beating Burwell by a single point. The Cougars were also the top area boys team, finishing third.
In District 8, Overton claimed the boys team title with Elm Creek topping the girls standings. Mullen finished second in the boys standings and third among the girls.

District competition will continue Thursday with Class C. The state track meet will be May 15-18 in Omaha.
