Overview:
The Wisner-Pilger Girls Basketball Team looks for a good season this year. 5th year Head Coach Brooke Fullner tells us about the makeup of the team this year.
Wisner-Pilger said goodbye to Cameryn Bellar, Emma Heller, and Maggie Schweers last year.
Coach Fullner says the offseason went really well.
I think the Gators have a chance to be pretty good this year.
Season Outlook:
Wisner-Pilger has a lot of promise coming into this year. Coach Fullner says the team is looking to grow and improve throughout the season. “We have a strong returning group of team members returning to the Gator Basketball team. I look for our athletic ability and speed to propel us throughout the season. Our experience on the court, our knowledge of the game, and our work ethic have the ability to allow us to make big strides this year.”
The Gators are in Sub-District C2-6 with Oakland-Craig, Wakefield, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, and Homer. Coach Fullner shares her thoughts on the Sub-District.
Wisner-Pilger hosts Lutheran High Northeast in the season opener on Thursday. Coach Fullner says it should be a great game.
I think when you look at the Gators’ schedule they definitely have an opportunity to win some games this year like they did last year.
Wisner-Pilger has a lot of tough matchups too so I’m curious to see how the Gators do against the top dogs on their schedule.
I feel like Wisner-Pilger has a chance to do well in them and perhaps even pull off an upset or two.
It will be interesting to see what happens.
