Overview:
The Logan View/Scribner-Snyder Girls Basketball Team has reason for optimism coming into this year as the Raiders return a lot of experience from last season. 3rd year Head Coach Erin Johnson talks about the make up of this year’s team.
Coach Johnson says the offseason went very well.
I think Logan View/Scribner-Snyder can and will be much improved this season.
You add in all the returning experience the team brings back and the success the Volleyball Team had in making a Sub-State Final, and you have a winning recipe.
I think this season has a chance to be very good for the Raiders and there could be a lot of bright moments for sure.
Season Outlook:
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder has a lot of experience, but what will that amount to this year? Coach Johnson gives us her preseason assessment of the squad this year.
The Raiders host Oakland-Craig in the season opener on December 1st. Coach Johnson says she hopes her team can be mentally tough and handle ball pressure.
She adds some teams in the Nebraska Capitol Conference have lost some kids from last year so there are some unknowns in the Conference.
The Volleyball Team did well in that Tournament this fall so there’s no reason to think the Raiders won’t climb the ladder in the Conference in Girls Basketball too.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder is in Sub-District C1-5 with West Point-Beemer, Tekamah-Herman, Wayne, and Winnebago.
Coach Johnson says it’s a sigh of relief not to have North Bend Central in their Sub-District.
I think the Raiders can definitely compete in the Sub-District, and perhaps win it.
The schedule is pretty challenging for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, but I’m really curious to see how the Raiders do and if they can get things turned around this season.
