GACC Football falls at Stanton
September 23rd, 2022 | Jeff Axtell

The Guardian Angels Central Catholic Football Team lost 60-14 at Stanton Friday night.

The Mustangs led 22-0 at the end of the 1st quarter and 46-0 at halftime.

Stanton added 7 3rd quarter points to extend their lead to 53-0 at the end of three.

The Bluejays doubled up the Mustangs 14-7 in the 4th quarter.

The defense gave up 468 yards of total offense, including 312 on the ground.

Another tough loss for GACC.

The Bluejays (0-4) host Pender (1-3) on Homecoming Friday night.

The Pendragons fell 44-32 at home to Wisner-Pilger last week.

Pender has played a very tough schedule and is still a very good team.

GACC has their work cut out for them in this one there’s no doubt about that.

The Bluejays have to step up and play well and with pride Friday night.

This is homecoming for GACC and the Bluejays have to play with a lot of purpose and fight in this one.

This game has to matter to GACC, and they have to care about it a lot and be dedicated enough to go out there and battle until the very end.

I know the season hasn’t gone the way the Bluejays are used to them going, but there’s a real opportunity here in the second half of the season for some wins.

So GACC has to keep fighting and keep their heads up and keep battling until the very end.

You only get one shot at High School Football so you might as well make the most of it if you are the Bluejays.

I have no doubt that GACC will come to play and bring the lunch pail and fight Friday night.
