January 17th, 2024 | Wayne State College

Jan. 17, 2024 (WAYNE, Neb.) – Wayne State College’s Festival of Honor Bands returns to the Peterson Fine Arts Building Saturday, Jan. 27. The concert finale is at 4:30 p.m. in Ramsey Theatre, and admission is $5.

Each year, the Wayne State Department of Music hosts this day-long festival for junior high and high school students from Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Students must audition to participate. Throughout the day, students learn and rehearse with one of three clinicians. This year’s clinicians are Dr. Randy Neuharth, retired music instructor from Northeast Community College; Todd Cook, instrumental music director at Norfolk Public School; and Michael Genslinger, instructor of music and assistant director of bands at Wayne State.
