Winifred “Winnie” Hollman passed away January 14, 2023, at Oakland Heights in Oakland, Nebraska. Memorial service will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023, 2:00 pm at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lyons, NE. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church. Burial at a later date in Wisner Cemetery, Wisner, NE. Memorials can be made to the Bethany Lutheran Church in Lyons. Winifred Ann (Pearson) Hollman was born January 1, 1933, at a farm in rural Craig, Nebraska to Carrol and Lillian (Hanneman) Pearson. She passed away January 14, 2023, at Oakland Heights in Oakland, Nebraska.
Winnie was raised on the farm in rural Craig and then moved to a farm near Oakland. She graduated from Lyons High School in 1950. She was married to Delbert Hollman December 20, 1950, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakland. To this union were born two children, Doug and Susan. Delbert and Winnie farmed in Pender, Nebraska before farming in Burt County.
Winnie was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Lyons, Nebraska. She was involved in many church activities. She was a devoted Christian woman, serving in many ways throughout her time there.
Winnie loved to garden and had stands at Farmers Markets around the area. She enjoyed making fresh organic goodies. She was a huge Farmers Market fan; the social aspect may have been her favorite.
She worked at Logan Valley Manor in Lyons for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert; parents, Carrol and Lillian; brother-in-law, Arvin Vogel.
She is survived by her son, Doug (Delberta) Hollman of Lyons; daughter, Susan (Gary) McGrath of Surprise, AZ; grandchildren: Matthew (Lacy) Hollman of Lyons, Ben (Emily) Hollman of Lyons, KayCe (Tyler) Henneman of Decatur, NE, Evan McGrath of Temecula, CA, Maggie (Cam) Christiansen of Papillion, NE, Katie (Justin) Banghart of Colorado Springs, CO, Brian (Kelli) McGrath of Surprise.
Winnie loved her great grandchildren and was blessed to share time with them. They include Madalyn Wittland, Hannah Wittland, Declan Christiansen, Skylar Hollman, Tucker Vyhlidal, Harper Hollman, Jackson Hollman, Jace Banghart, Amelia Banghart, Winnie Banghart, Miles Banghart and Baby Henneman coming in May 2023.
Winnie was such a bright and shining light in our lives as well as the lives of many others. Well done good and faithful servant; go now and rest.
