Linda was born in Columbus, NE on December 3, 1960 to Glen & Frances (Mecek) Olafson. She graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1979. Linda was a lifelong cook and worked at various venues in Schuyler including Bosh’s, Gene’s Restaurant, CHI Hospital, and her favorite, the St. Benedict Center.

During the warm months you could find Linda outside tending her garden and playing with her grandchildren. She eagerly awaited the arrival of the first hummingbird spotting of the season to share the news with her sister in their unspoken competition. In the cold months, she loved baking in the kitchen. Her buttermilk brownies, cookies, and rolls were family favorites. Her faith was very important to her. She loved attending prayer groups. While some people enjoyed a beer and a football game, Linda could never get enough coffee, chocolate, and family time. While Linda was at home, her pet companion, Bella, could always be found at her side.

Linda is survived by Roland Brandl and their four children, Kristy (Jeff) Andel and their children: Kaleb, Keaton, Kalliope, and Kreighton. Jessica (Andrew) Yost and their children: Kai and Braeh. Clayton (Bethhannie) Brandl and their children: Reese, Savannah, and Sage. Emily Brandl (Todd Andel) and their children: Aria, McKenna, and soon to be baby boy. Sister Joyce (Rodney) McCoy, brothers Robert (Connie) Olafson, and Greg Olafson. Sisters-in-law Jean Brandl, Sherril (Jack) Mefford, Connie Brandl, and Sally (Ken) Hahn. Brothers-in-law Richard (Diane) Brandl, Raymond Brandl, Russel (Lisa) Brandl and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
