Kathleen Ehlers, 95, of Leigh, died Monday, April 8, 2024, at the Clarkson Care Center in Clarkson.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 12, 2024, 10:30 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Leigh PMA Ron Lofgren, Officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 5-7 and Friday 9:30-10:30 at the church. Committal in the Leigh Cemetery Lunch in the church basement. Memorials in care of the family for future designation. Kracl-Leigh Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Kathleen was born January 28, 1929, on a farm near Madison, Nebraska, to John C. and Pearla (Callies) Ehlers. Her family later moved to a farm near Leigh where she attended Leigh public school district #39 and graduated from Leigh High School as Valedictorian of her class in1946. Following graduation she was employed at Wolken’s grocery store for a period of time after which the remainder of her life was dedicated to living with and caring for her parents. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and in addition to caring for her parents she enjoyed canning and baking, embroidery, crocheting, working in her garden and caring for her flowers. She had no siblings and was preceded in death by her parents. Her passing is mourned by numerous friends and relatives.
