Cynthia Ann “Cindy” (Linnenbrink) Lammers, age 58, of Shenandoah, Iowa

Cynthia Ann “Cindy” (Linnenbrink) Lammers, 58, of Shenandoah, Iowa, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 10, 2022 at CHI Health Mercy – Council Bluffs. A celebration of life memorial visitation will take place on Thursday evening, January 13, 2022, with the family greeting relatives and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Nishna Valley Funeral and Cremation Service in Shenandoah. A private family memorial service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, with inurnment taking place in the Allen Pioneer Cemetery, rural Blair, Nebraska. A memorial is being established in Cindy’s name. Memorials can be directed to the Cindy Lammers Memorial Fund.

Cynthia Ann (Linnenbrink) Lammers, was born on March 19, 1963, to Edwin Lawrence and Roseann (Meiergerd) Linnenbrink in West Point, Nebraska. Cindy entered into eternal rest on Monday January 10, 2022, at CHI Health Mercy – Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 22 days.

Growing up, Cindy spent her childhood in West Point, Nebraska along with her four sisters and three brothers. She graduated from West Point High School with the Class of 1981. Cindy went on to attend Wayne State College before finishing her degree at Kearney State College, graduating in 1986.

Cindy met and fell in love with Pat (Jan Patrick) Lammers, and they were married on December 28, 1985, in West Point, Nebraska. Following their marriage, they spent time in Omaha, Nebraska, Lawrence, Kansas, and Kearney, Nebraska before finally settling in Shenandoah, Iowa in 1992.

Following the birth of their daughter, Catie, Cindy started an in-home daycare. She loved children and wanted to stay at home to care for Catie. When Catie was in Middle School, Cindy returned back to a school setting. Substitute teaching in Shenandoah, Sidney, Hamburg, and Glenwood working on staff in Essex and Shenandoah. Eventually, Cindy returned back to daycare following Catie’s graduation from high school. She had close to 150 children under her care. Some returned with their own children years later. She enjoyed this very much. She also had the opportunity to care for her granddaughter, Isabelle until she started Pre-K.

In her down time, Cindy enjoyed doing scrapbooking, crafts and attending craft fairs, painting door hangers and welcome signs. Photography, traveling, going to concerts, working puzzles, playing games (especially card games), also brought great enjoyment to her.

Preceding Cindy in death were her father, Edwin Linnenbrink; and her in-laws, Robert and Patricia Lammers. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Pat Lammers; daughter, Catie Reafleng and husband James; three grandchildren, Landen, Treyton and Isabelle Reafleng; mother, Rosie Linnenbrink; three brothers, Eddie, Craig (Lori) and David; four sisters, Cheryl (Dale), Mary (Kevin), Cathy (Phil) and Kristie (Ross); many nieces and nephews; other relatives; extended day care family; and many friends.
