Whippets sweep Lexington in basketball

Lexington-Minden jumped out to a 20-0 lead and coasted in for a 55-13 win over Lexington on Tuesday night. The Whippets led 17-1 at the end of the first quarter and picked up their second win of the season. Kinsie Land led the Whippets with 15 points ,Myla Emery had 14 points and McKenna Starkey scored 11. The Minutemaids fell to 0-3.

In the boys game, Minden pulled away in the second half for a 63-43 victory. The game was tight early as the game was tied a 14 after one quarter, Minden took the lead for good in the second quarter outscoring the Minutemen 16-7 and led 30-21 at the half. Jake Ryan led four Whippets in double figures with 16 points, Austin Lukemeir had 13, while Brett Eckhardt had 12, and Kade Dorzynski scored 10. Lexington who is now 0-3 on the season was led by Jante Miller who scored 13 as Lexington scored 43 points which was a big improvement over their first two games.
