KPD has investigated this report specifically as it pertains to Kearney and find no credible threat to Kearney Public Schools. We want to assure our community that these rumors have been thoroughly investigated by KPD and found to be unsubstantiated. These rumors are not related to Kearney Public Schools or our local community.
Kearney Police Department and Kearney Public Schools are committed to maintaining the safety of our schools and community. KPD is in daily communication with KPS to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff.
We also want to take this opportunity to remind students and community members of the importance of reporting any unusual activity or threats they hear, even if they initially seem like a joke. Reporting any suspicious or concerning comments or behaviors to the proper authorities can help prevent potential incidents.
