Lincoln-In a move that has been expected for awhile Freshman Dylan Raiola has been named Nebraska’s starting quarterback, the team announced Wednesday. The decision by head coach Matt Rhule puts the former five-star prospect in charge of the Nebraska offense in the season opener.
Originally committed to Georgia, Raiola flipped his commitment to the Huskers in December and was impressive during spring practice. Raiola was able to beat out Kearney native Heinrich Haarberg, who played in 10 games last year and led the team in rushing and passing. Nebraska kicks off the season on August 31st against UTEP.
