Local athletes have great day at NSAA meet

There were numerous championships won by area athletes at the Class C & D state track and field championships on Saturday. Kearney Catholic won the girls Class C title, while Southern Valley was the state runner up in Class D. On the boys side Chase County won the Class C boys title, while Axtell and McCool Junction tied for the title.

Overton’s Will Kulhanek had a huge weekend finishing with four individual golds, Overton’s Adysen McCarter won state titles in the triple Jump and 100 meter dash. Southern Valley’s Adi Hunt won two state championships in the long jump and the 200 meter dash and Alyssa Onnen of Kearney Catholic won three all Class Gold medals and Cambridge’s Carson Trompke won two gold medals.
