Kearney businessman sentenced to prison on sexual assault charges

A Heartwell man has been sentenced on sexual assault of a child charges.


Kearney County District Court records say 61-year-old Alan Mais was sentenced
yesterday to six years in prison for two counts of 3rd degree Sexual Assault of a
Child and Felony Child Abuse.


He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for the next 25 years.


Mais took a plea deal to and pled no contest to the charges in May.
In exchange, seven counts of 3rd Degree Sexual assault of child were dropped.


Mais was arrested last November.
He operates The Camera Doctor in Kearney.
