Robin Hinrichs of Axtell is a candidate for the Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) Board of Directors for District 6. The seat is currently held by Ed Schrock who is not seeking re-election. District 6 includes the counties of Dawson, Franklin, Kearney and Phelps, and portions of Furnas and Harlan.

“Public service has been a part of my life and this is the next step,” Hinrichs said. “We need people on the NPPD Board who will put ratepayers first. Low electric rates and reliability are the two most important factors when it comes to electric power and those will be my priorities. We also need to make sure farmers and ranchers are well-represented on the NPPD Board,” Hinrichs said.

Hinrichs is a 5th generation farmer. He is married to his wife Jodi, and they have two sons. Hinrichs has been a registered NSAA basketball official for 29 years and is an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He has been a life-long member of his church. He currently serves as Secretary on the Tri-Basin Natural Resources District Board.

“Nebraska is proud of our public power system and NPPD obviously plays a major role in the success of public power through its generation and distribution operations. We need to make sure NPPD is making the right decisions for our current and long-term sustainability of our power system,” Hinrichs said.
