Norfolk, Neb. — One person died as the result of a small airplane crash Monday evening near Karl Stefen Airport at Norfolk.
Norfolk Police say their agency and other first-responders went to the scene after learning that the single-engine aircraft crashed at 7:39 p.m.
Emergency responders found that the small plane had crashed about one-half mile south of the runway, just after take-off.
There was a single pilot who died at the scene.
Federal aviation authorities were contacted and will assist in the investigation.
Norfolk Police along with Norfolk Fire & Rescue and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
