A Cozad man will spend a decade behind bars on a drug and gun charge.

Acting United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced 45 year old Christopher Twohig was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine (actual) and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime.

After he is released, Twohig will begin a five-year term of supervised release.

On March 22, Cozad Police officers attempted to arrest Twohig on a state warrant.
He was located and apprehended in a parking lot at a convenience store.
Authorities say around 47 grams of meth was found in his coat, along with multiple empty baggies.
A gun with over 100 rounds of ammunition was also found in Twohig’s vehicle.

A lab determined there was around 45.24 grams of meth, of which at least 41 grams was actual meth.
