Terryl “Terry” Loper, 77, of Holdrege, formerly of Oxford

A Funeral Service for Ms. Terry R. Loper will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Pastor Brian Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Nebraska.

Terryl Rae “Terry” Loper, 77 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, formerly of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Terry was born on December 20, 1946, in Oxford, the youngest of four children, born to Richard M. and Dorothy M. (Hervey) Loper. She received her education from Oxford Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1965.

Terry pursued higher education from McCook Beauty Academy and attained a cosmetology degree. She never used her cosmetology degree and began working at Preston Drug in Oxford for the next 25 years. She later worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Mark’s Pharmacy in Oxford, until her retirement in 2023.

Terry was married to Robert Korte for a short time. They were blessed with a daughter, Dorothy, who died during birth. The couple made their home in Oxford, but would later divorce.

She loved to go line dancing, playing BINGO, reading, watching Cornhusker football, and spending time with and caring for her poodles. Terry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oxford.

Terry was preceded in death by her daughter, Dorothy Korte; her parents; a sister, Jackie Sullivan and husband, Dick; and a nephew-in-law, Mike Johnson.

Terry is survived by her siblings: Richard Loper and wife, Bonnie; and Robert Loper and wife, Connie, all of Sun City West, Arizona; two nieces: Tina Loper of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; Kathy Johnson of Holdrege; four nephews: Brad Loper and wife, Cheril of Castle Rock, Colorado; Brian Loper of Surprise, Arizona; Trent Loper of Phoenix, Arizona; and Toby Loper of Castle Rock, Colorado; along with several great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives, and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 8 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Terry’s honor, and kindly suggested to the First Baptist Church of Oxford or the Oxford Fire and Rescue.
