Kerry Taylor, 80, of Holdrege

A funeral service for Kerry L. Taylor will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Kenton Birtell officiating.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale, Nebraska.

Kerry Lee Taylor, 80 years of age, of Holdrege, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Bertrand Nursing Home in Bertrand, Nebraska.  Kerry was born on April 18, 1943, in Omaha, Nebraska, the only son of Edward “Guy” and Charlotte (Clemensen) Taylor.  He was raised in Oakdale and played the organ during church services growing up.  He attended and graduated from Oakdale High School with the class of 1961.  Kerry pursued higher education from Wayne State College.

Kerry was proud to serve as a Fireman and EMT.  He was a past member of the Neligh Fire Department, and Clearwater, Nebraska Fire Department.   He served Holdrege Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department as a Fireman for over 34 years, and as an EMT for over 28 years.

Kerry was united in marriage to Audrey Reinke on August 4, 1963, in Neligh.  The couple made their home in Neligh and later moved to Clearwater, where he worked as a Manager at the COOP.  The couple was blessed with two children: Brian and Annette.  The family enjoyed attending and watching stockcar races.  The family moved to Holdrege in 1974, and Kerry began working as the Manager at the COOP.  The couple would later divorce.

Kerry was then united in marriage Lonna Everett and together they raised her daughters, Michele and Tanya.  The couple would later divorce.

On December 29, 2005, Kerry was united in marriage to Bea (Coffey) Taylor in Minden, Nebraska.  Kerry lovingly accepted Bea’s daughter, Hannah, and helped raise her.

Kerry loved playing and watching sports, his entire life.  He especially loved attending his grandson’s events and following Husker sports and Kansas City Royals baseball.  He also enjoyed golfing with friends.

Kerry was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Margie Coffey.

Kerry is survived by his wife, Bea Taylor of Holdrege; his children:  son, Brian Taylor and wife, Sonja of Holdrege; daughter, Annette Sindt and husband, Scott of Holdrege; step-daughter, Hannah Taylor and her significant other, Matt Finch of Kearney, Nebraska; six grandchildren:  Collin Sindt and his wife, Kathrin; Andrew Sindt; Josh Taylor; Erika and Greyson Rivera; and Beau Finch; one great-grandson, Bennett Sindt; father-in-law, Jacob Coffey of Holdrege; and extended family members.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting friends from 6:00p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
