A memorial service for Jerry Jezbera will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Wilcox, Nebraska with Pastor Craig Cedar officiating. Military Honors will be conducted at the funeral home.

Jerry Dean Jezbera, 69 years of age, of Wilcox, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at his home in Wilcox, due to a house fire. Jerry was born on March 2, 1954, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, the fourth of five children, to Willie and Catherine (Tobey) Jezbera.

He attended and graduated from Wilcox High School with the class of 1973. Following his education, Jerry enlisted into the United States Navy.

Jerry was united in marriage to Adele Weber and the couple were blessed with five children: Jeani, Jeremy, Joana, Jessica, and Josiah. The family made their home in Ragan, Nebraska. The couple would later divorce.

In his younger years, Jerry enjoyed being a cowboy and attending rodeos. He suffered a broken leg while bull riding.
Jerry worked for many years at G&S Farms, west of Axtell, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Jezbera; and mother, Catherine Knittle.

Jerry is survived by his five children; his siblings: William Jezbera and his wife, Sharon “Kay” of Kearney; James Jezbera and his wife, Vel of Burwell, Nebraska; Gary Jezbera and his wife, Charlene of Wilcox; and Angie Jezbera of York, Nebraska; along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

There will not be a visitation or viewing. Cremation was chosen.

A memorial has been established in Jerry’s honor, and is kindly suggested to the family.
