Eileen Cramer, 91, of Holdrege

A Memorial Mass for Eileen Cramer will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Jay Buhman as Celebrant.  A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. at the church.  Inurnment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.

Eileen Marie Cramer, 91 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. She was born on May 14, 1933, in McCook, Nebraska, the youngest of five children, born to James William “J.W.” and Teresa (Luger) Sullivan. She received her education from McCook Public Schools and then attended and graduated from McCook High School, with the class of 1951.

Following her education, Eileen began working as Telephone Operator in McCook.

On November 16, 1954, Eileen was united in marriage to Henry E. “Hap” Meguire at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook and to this union two children were born: Bill and Diane. The couple later made their home in Holdrege, where Eileen worked at BD.

In 1991, Eileen was united in marriage to Jerry Cramer in Denver, Colorado, in a double ring wedding ceramony with Jerry’s sister, Madeline and husband, Louis.  The couple made their home in Holdrege.  Together they enjoyed camping and boating, gardening and attending dances.

She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.

Eileen enjoyed tending to her yard and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Hap Meguire; daughter-in-law, Debra Meguire; her siblings and spouses:  Bernice Sullivan; Velma Schneider; Cliff Sullivan; and Virginia “Ginny” Bright; and a granddaughter, Shanin Cramer.

Eileen is survived by her loving companion of over 30 years, Jerry Cramer of Holdrege; her children: Bill Meguire and his wife, Patti of rural Holdrege; and Diane White and her husband, Bud of Republican City, Nebraska; Jerry’s children:  Dave Cramer and his wife Susan of Holdrege; Rick Cramer and his wife, Jan of Charter Oak, Iowa; Kelly Cramer and his wife, Denise Elliott of Funk, Nebraska; twelve grandchildren: Dustin Meguire of Lincoln, Nebraska; Ryan Meguire of Ogallala, Nebraska; Chase Olson and his wife, Jessica of Lincoln; Chelsi Patterson and her husband, Eddie of Des Moines, Iowa; Jade White and his wife, Emily of Orleans, Nebraska; Austin White and his wife, Lindsey of Cambridge, Nebraska; Brian Cramer of Phoenix, Arizona; Hilary Schriner and her husband, Jeff of Gothenburg; Jason Cramer of Ogden, Utah; Amy Cramer of Charter Oak, Iowa; Stephanie Cook and her husband, Alex of Gretna, Nebraska; and Kylee Maurer and her husband, Garrett of Grand Island, Nebraska; nineteen great-grandchildren: Hazel and Maeve Olson; Frankie Patterson; Bradley and Arlo White; Judson and Halle White; Nathan Reed Cramer, Clayton Jacobi Askew, Richard Jayden Askew, and Logan Gage Cramer; Brandon, Natalie, and Gabbie Schriner; Taylor, Ansyn, and Rowen Cook; and Elena and Maxton Maurer; one great-great-grandson, Nyjah Mason Cramer; one sister-in-law, Beverly Green of Denver; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation as the family is honoring her wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Eileen’s honor, and kindly suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
