Mass of Christian Burial for Donna Beaudette will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Father Jay Buhman as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.
Donna M. Beaudette, 88 years of age, of Holdrege, died on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Donna was born in Randolph, Nebraska, on December 5, 1935, the 8th of 11 children, born to Osborn and Malania (Schmitt) Scott. She received her education at St. Frances de Chantell School at Randolph and graduated with the class of 1953.
Following graduation, she worked for Northwestern Bell, as a telephone operator. On July 24, 1954, Donna was united in marriage to Vonnie D. Beaudette of Wausa, Nebraska in Randolph, Nebraska. The union was blessed with seven children: Gregory, Scott, Susan, Daniel, Jimmy, Dale and Sharon.
She worked many jobs while going to school, after getting married, and raising her children. Donna worked at Coast to Coast, now Ace Hardware for 28 years. She enjoyed flowers, crocheting, gardening, playing cards and games, and fishing. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and motorcycle trips with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law; two sons: Scott Beaudette; and Greg Beaudette; her husband, Vonnie; her brothers: Dale, Lowell, Duane, Leon, Lamont, and Gerald; infant sister-in-law, Corvalee; brothers-in-law: Delwyn, Elwyn, Ronnie, and John; granddaughter, Kristina Cepel; and a great-granddaughter, Gracelynn Kuss.
Donna leaves to celebrate her life; her children: Susan Heppard and her husband, Noel of Springfield, Missouri; Daniel Beaudette and his wife, Lois of Seymour, Tennessee; Jimmy Beaudette and his wife, Delisa of Holdrege; Dale Beaudette and his wife, Dianne of Gering, Nebraska; and Sharon Kuss and her husband, Dan of Holdrege; 20 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; her brothers: Gene Scott and wife, Ann of Phoenix, Arizona; Lavern Scott and wife, Connie of Randolph; Larry Scott of Omaha, Nebraska; and Ronnie Scott and wife, Julie of Fremont, Nebraska; adopted sister, Sharon “Petie” Cook of Norfolk; two sisters-in-law, Judy Beaudette of Plainview, Nebraska; and Dorothy Beaudette of Center, Nebraska; two daughters-in-law: Vivian Beaudette of Holdrege; and Cindy Lou Beaudette of Grand Island, Nebraska;
along with nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family present.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial in Donna’s honor can be made to the family for future designation.
