Brady Dennis Nyberg, 43 years of age, of Kearney, Nebraska, formerly of Axtell, Nebraska, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, following complications from surgery.  As a registered organ donor, and also through tissue donation, Brady was able to positively impact others with the gift of healing and extended life.

Brady was born on September 9, 1980, in Kearney, Nebraska, the first of two children, born to Robert and Cynthia “Cindy” (Huffman) Nyberg.  He was raised in Axtell and Alma, Nebraska, and received his education from Alma Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1999.

During high school, Brady was active in many sports.  He played football as a lineman wearing the #78 jersey proudly, which later on became his favorite number.  He was a 3-time state qualifier in wrestling.  During his senior year he was easy to pick out on the mat by the red shaved smiling face on the back of his head.  He also qualified for state track throwing the shot put and discus and was the fastest leg on the Weightman’s Relay.

After graduation, Brady attended Peru State College on a football scholarship and later transferred to the University of Nebraska at Kearney.  His outgoing and larger-than-life personality helped him easily make friends and become the life of the party, a title which he still held at the time of his passing.

Following his education, Brady held various job positions but eventually found his home at BluePrint Engines in Kearney, as a Production Supervisor.  He of course made many friends at BluePrint and later became a shareholder in the company.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Alma Nebraska where he was confirmed and was an active member in the youth group growing up.

Throughout his life, Brady enjoyed motocross with uncles Oly and Stan.  In recent years, he started racing again with his cousins and many close friends.  He became a mentor to others, including family, and friends of all ages.

Several of Brady’s biggest passions included golfing with his siblings and his friends, cheering on the Nebraska Cornhusker Football team, and a lifelong love for the San Francisco 49er’s.

Even though he pretended not too, he really loved spending time with his family.  He was very sociable and loved spending time with his friends, of which there were many.  He was a brother to all that he met and dearly loved by so many.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents:  Lawrence and Iola (Norbye) Huffman; and Edwin “Ed” and Elna (Stranberg) Nyberg; two uncles:  Dennis Nyberg; and Daryl Nyberg; aunt; Julie Nyberg; and infant cousin: Lena Janae Huffman.

Brady is survived by his parents:  Cindy Boehler of Alma, and special friend, Terry Ostrander of Kearney, Nebraska; Robert Nyberg and his wife, Carrie of Lincoln, Nebraska; and JJ Boehler of Orleans, Nebraska; his siblings:  Jessica Miller of Alma, Nebraska; Joseph Boehler of Orleans, Nebraska; Max Boehler and wife, Alexa of Dearborn, Missouri; Burke Boehler of Lincoln, Nebraska; Kerry Spence and husband Brandon of Crab Orchard, Nebraska; and Jenny Boehler of North Platte, Nebraska; maternal uncles and aunts:  Olaf “Oly” Huffman and his wife, Tresa; Stan Huffman and his wife, Kristin, all of Axtell; and Tina Landen and her husband, Mike of Alma, Nebraska; paternal uncles and aunts:  Larry Nyberg of Loomis, Nebraska; Ardell Day and her husband, Ron of Tampa, Florida; DeLane Nyberg of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Carol Wagner of Chestertown, Maryland; Brady is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Alexa, Owen, and Oliver Miller; Lark, Blythe and Ethel Boehler; Jack Spence; Braylin Pettit and Emmit Johnson, many cousins, who he was close with; extended family members, and many friends.
