Over 75% of Nebraska’s corn and soybean crop was rated good to excellent, according to the latest USDA NASS Crop Progress Report, which is a major boost from the same week last year.
The state’s corn condition was rated 84% good to excellent, 14% fair and 2% poor.
For soybeans, the state’s crop was rated 79% good to excellent, 19% fair and 2% poor.
This week’s condition ratings are considerably higher than the ratings for the same period last year, which stood at 61% good to excellent for corn and 53% good to excellent for soybeans.
Nebraska corn was 93% emerged. Soybeans were 96% planted across the state with 82% of the crop emerged, which is nearly 10 percentage points behind last year.
Winter wheat condition rated 72% good to excellent statewide.
Nebraska’s pasture and range conditions rated 65% good to excellent and 25% fair.
