Able to Save Month being celebrated this August

Lincoln, Neb. — August is Able to Save Month, a nationwide campaign that aims to educate the public about ABLE accounts, which are financial savings tools for people with disabilities. Jim Pillen recently declared August “Able to Save Month.” For more information, go to treasurer.nebraska.gov or visit enablesavings.com Nebraska’s Enable Savings Plan was established by the Nebraska Legislature in 2015 after the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act was signed into federal law. The law allows Nebraskans (and residents of other states) with certain disabilities to create tax-advantaged ABLE savings accounts to pay for qualified disability-related expenses.
