May 23rd, 2024 | News Release

Twin Cities Development (TCD) is proud to announce the successful securing of a $250,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This grant will empower TCD to extend vital services to businesses in Nebraska, free of charge. With a focus on assisting businesses in accessing resources and support, this grant will pave the way for economic growth and sustainability in rural areas.

The grant will enable Twin Cities Development to offer a range of services aimed at enhancing the capabilities and opportunities for businesses across Nebraska. Through the Rural Energy for America Program Technical Assistance Grant (REAP TAG) program, TCD will provide guidance and support in navigating the complexities of applying for REAP grants. Additionally, TCD will offer assistance with System for Award Management (SAM) registration, a crucial step for businesses seeking federal contracts and grants. Furthermore, businesses will have access to energy audits and assessments, aiding them in identifying opportunities for efficiency and sustainability.

The REAP TAG Program, authorized under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, aims to provide technical assistance to agricultural producers and rural small businesses seeking support for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. This program has a total funding amount of $16,000,000 for FY 2024.

“We are thrilled to be the recipients of this USDA grant, which will allow us to further support businesses in our community,” said Jordan Diedrich, Executive Director at Twin Cities Development. “These services will not only streamline the process for accessing vital resources but also contribute to the long-term economic resilience and sustainability of our region.”

Businesses interested in these services are encouraged to reach out to Twin Cities Development for further information.
