A tentative August trial date has been set for a 62-year-old Scottsbluff man facing 26 felony charges for allegedly having sexual contact with a child.

Among the charges filed against Leo Smith are 13 counts of First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child more than 12 but less than 16 years old.

Court records say Smith and the victim had been watching pornography and engaging in sexual contact since August 2022. Investigators say when interviewed, Smith said everything the victim had described was true.

Bond was continued at $1 million, ten percent, and Smith’s next court date has been set for July 23rd for a Pretrial Conference.
