Season Ends for Scottsbluff After Loss to Northwest at State

HASTINGS- The Grand Island Northwest Vikings ended Scottsbluff’s season at the state tournament after winning, 12-4, in six innings.

Scottsbluff’s season ends with a mark of 22-13 with a fourth consecutive state tournament berth.

The Bearcat’s four runs came on seven hits with a pair of solo home runs from Hallie Schneider and Michaela Henry. Schneider and Makayla Michaelson each had two hits for Scottsbluff with Adryana Rodriquez and Laurel McCoy also picking up hits for the Bearcats.

Northwest got a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning from Libby Loman to end the game early. The Vikings also had four players with multi-hit games in Jolie O’Hara, Kyra Ray, Reyse Zobel and Becca Dinkelman.

Two-time defending state champion Northwest advances to take on Blair in the Viking’s third game of the tournament.
