Scottsbluff teams win, Gering falls in soccer sub-district matches

The high school soccer postseason started on Monday with the Scottsbluff girls and Lexington boys hosting B-8 Sub-District tournaments.

At the Landers Complex in Scottsbluff the Bearcat girls team downed Holdrege 6-0 getting goals two goals from Ella Foote and single tallies from Adryana Rodrigues, Nyah Huck, Natalee Bentley, and Emily Reyes.

In the other match it was Lexington edging past Gering 2-1 with the Bulldogs lone goal coming from Allison Herbel.

Scottsbluff will host Lexington in the championship match tonight at 5 pm at the Landers Complex.

In their only other meeting this season Scottsbluff beat Lex 7-0.

Boys B-8

Scottsbluff’s first goal came from George Schmall and then the second off a Tallon McDonald free kick as the Bearcats beat Holdrege 2-0.

In the other game there yesterday it was top seed Lexington downing Gering 11-0.

So that sets up Scottsbluff to take on Lexington for the sub-district title tonight. The Bearcats got beat 3-0 by the Minutemen earlier this season.
